Course Description
The TC1, TMI1 combined skill set is ran over 3 consecutive days.
- Day One: Theory and Assessment
- Day Two: Theory and Assessment
- Day Three: Simulated Assessment
During these 3 days you will gain the skills and knowledge required to enter the traffic industry on low volume category 1 roads.
Post Course: As a part of the post course training you will also be required to complete 20 hours of work placement with a traffic management company that CTA will place you with.
Once your 20 hours are completed and all the requirements have been met, an approved trainer will come out on your live site to complete a practical sign off.
When the Sign off has been complete and your paperwork processed you will be qualified to start working in the traffic industry on category 1, low volume roads.

Upon Successful completion of this training you will receive a statement of Attainment inclusive of the follow skill sets and units of competency.

- RIISS00060 – Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads
- RIICOM201E – Communicate in the workplace
- RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with slow-stop bat
- RIIWHS206 – Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
- RIIRIS301E
- Apply risk management processes
- RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plans
- RIIWHS303 – Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices
Course Delivery
- 3 Days Face to Face Training
- Simulated Practical Assessment
- Theory based Assessment
- Post course : 20 hours work placement
- One site Practical Sign off
Pre-Requisites
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Applicants must hold a white card equivalent of unit
- CPCWHS1001/CPCCWHS1001 (Red Card is not suffice)
- Must hold an Australian Drivers Licence
- Must be able to complete a Basic LLN
Education Pathways
The unit provide credit towards several Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications in the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package and other training packages, such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
