Course Description
This course is for practitioners who are transitioning their current tickets to the new Austroads Guidelines.
This course is only for Practitioners currently working in the industry who can provide relevant evidence from the past 6 months.
TC1, TC2 Combined Transition is for those who have successfully completed TMI1 and TMI2 Practitioner Transition and met all the requirements asset out in the Austroads guidelines.
Units and Certification
Upon successful completion of all associated Units of Competency, participants will receive Statements of Attainment for
- RIISS00058 – Traffic Controller Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads and
- RIISS00059 – Traffic Controller Skill Set for High Volume Roads.

- RIICOM201E – Communicate in the workplace
- RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with a STOP/SLOW bat
- RIIWHS206 – Control traffic with portable traffic control device and temporary traffic signs
Course Delivery

Pre-Requisites
- Must have completed TMI1 and TMI2 Practitioner training in full and received statement of attainment
- Must hold a white card / unit CPCWHS1001 (red card will not be accepted)
- Must have a valid Australian drivers license
- Be able to demonstrate industry experience, which includes 20 hours working in a category 1 environment and 40 hours working in a category 2 environment.
- Must be 18 years of age
Education Pathways
These units provide credit towards several Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications in the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package and other training packages, such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
