Course Description
TMI2 and TC2 skill sets addresses the skills and knowledge required for those responsible for traffic management implementation and Traffic Control on Temporary Traffic Management Category 2 environments as described in the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.
This course may only be undertaken in addition to:
Successful completion of the following skill sets and the post course requirements.
RIISS00061 – Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for High Volume Roads ; and
RIISS00059 – Traffic Controller Skill Set for High Volume Roads; and
- At least 40 hours of experience working in a temporary traffic management workplace in a traffic controller role.
- At least one month experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the RIISS00060 skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace
- At least 20 hours of practical experience and at least 3 different types of setups on Category 2 roads within at least 6 months of successfully completing theoretical component.
- Providing evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management types including high speed roads or high-volume roads, and at least two of the specified types as per displayed on https://austroads.com.au/network-operations/temporary-traffic-management/training/riiss0061

Pre-Requisites
- You must have completed TC1 and TMI1 before starting TMI2. TMI2 must be completed before progressing to TMI3.
- You must be able to provide evidence of 12 set ups meeting the description above.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must hold a white card equivalent of unit CPCWHS1001/CPCCWHS1001 (Red Card is not suffice)
- Must have an Australian drivers license
- Must be able to complete a basic LLN
Education Pathways
These units provides credit towards several Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications in the RIIResources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package and other training packages, such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
